Large Ears

Thick Fur on Paws

Slit Pupils

The Iberian Lynx posseses many different adaptations. The first adaptation is this lynx's large ears. Like other lynxes, the Iberian Lynx has small tufts of black fur on top off these ears. These tufts help the lynx to hear. The Iberian Lynxes have large ears that are good for hunting because they help the Iberoian Lynx hear sonuds from a distance. The next adaptation is their thick fur on their paws. This is another good adaptation for hunting because it help the Iberian Lynx's feet stay quiet when hitting the ground. If the paws didn't have this fur, it would make it hard for Iberian Lynxes to find food. The final adaptation is the slit pupils of the Iberian Lynx's eyes. Although it may look like it is harder to see, the Iberian Lynx can see a lot better than an average human (an average human has 20/20 eyesite.) This can help the Iberian Lynx when there is too much light. The pupils are small enough that it will not damage the eyes. The Iberian Lynx's learned behaviors include den relocation and hunting. The inherited traits include being noctornal and denfending their territory.
